Charleston Village Architectural Review Board

The Charleston Village Architectural Review Board meets to review and approve/deny architectural requests and to discuss and make recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the Architectural Standards and Specifications (See Documents page.).

The Architectural Review Board has been created as specified in the Bylaws. Drees Homes has signed over final architectural approval authority to the ARB. See Article VI. Section 3. of the Covenants for details on transfer of architectural approval authority.

Architectural Review Process

  1. Homeowners should submit Architectural Requests (See Documents page.) to R S Fincher at least 7 days prior to the next Architectural Review Board (ARB) meeting. The Architectural Review Board meets at 7:00 P.M. on the first Wednesday of each month at the clubhouse.

  2. R S Fincher forwards the requests to the Architectural Review Board for review and consideration at the next scheduled ARB meeting.

  3. The Architectural Review Board makes a decision and notifies R S Fincher of the decision.

  4. R S Fincher mails a formal approval/disapproval notification letter to the homeowner.

  5. The homeowner may begin work if approval is granted or in the event approval is neither granted nor denied within sixty (60) days following receipt by the ARB of written demand for approval.

Any formal hearings will be held by the Architectural Review Board. The ARB is also responsible for recommending changes to the Architectural Standards and Specifications to the Board of Directors.

Architectural Review Board Responsibilities

  • Review all architectural requests and ensure compliance with Charleston Village Homeowners Association Architectural Standards and Specifications.

  • Notify R S Fincher of all approval/denial of requests.

  • Review and make recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding changes to the Architectural Standards and Specifications.

Architectural Review Board Members

Architectural Review Board members are appointed by the Board of Directors.
